It’s amazing how many great innovations have their origin in anger or frustration. When Ermal Fraze was frustrated because no one had brought a can opener to a picnic, he invented the pull-tab to open soda cans. When he was frustrated at seeing all those pull tabs on the ground, he invented today’s pop-top, where the tab stays on the can. If it annoys you, it probably annoys other people, too. What annoyance could you eliminate through innovation? Now add the words “for your customers” after the word “eliminate.” If you can answer that question – and act on it – you’re about to make a lot of money.
